Homework is not compulsory. We are fully aware that students have many other commitments and may have little time outside their class time for further study. If you wish to have homework please see your teacher.
SGSCC English is happy for you to trial the class before committing to the whole course. You need to be sure that the course is going to help you in your educational journey.
All teaching resources are provided but you may wish to bring a pen, writing paper and an electronic translator or dictionary.
Our teachers are all specialist English Language teachers who use a variety of teaching methods in order to cater for individual needs. The course covers all four basic macro skills of Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. We also cover grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. We use a range of resources including video, aural resources, the Internet and computers so our classes are engaging and relevant.
Our students range in age from 18 to 60+.
You are never too old to learn English.
We have a wonderful mix of nationalities from all over the world.
In your first lesson the teacher will give you a number of informal assessments and activities in order to determine your level of English or literacy. This will help the teacher design a program to meet your individual needs. These tasks are not challenging and we do not expect 100% accuracy. However if the thought of an assessment is too stressful please tell your teacher and we can organise an alternate activity.
You may choose to attend 1 day, 2 days or all 3 depending on your personal circumstances.
We cater for all levels from Beginners to Advanced.
